Ivan Varfolomeev has received his first call-up to the Ukraine senior national team.

The midfielder has been named in Ukraine's squad for their upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures, earning recognition at senior level after establishing himself as a regular for the country's U21 side.

Varfolomeev has represented Ukraine at U21 level on a number of occasions, including throughout their Euro 2027 qualifying campaign, and was part of the side that secured a 2-1 victory away to Hungary U21 in March.

The 22-year-old joined City from Slovan Liberec in August 2025 and enjoyed an impressive first season at the ProAmpac Stadium, winning the club's Young Player of the Season award.

He has continued to feature regularly for Chris Cohen and Tom Shaw's side this season, making seven Sky Bet Championship appearances so far as City compete in their first season back in the second tier.

Varfolomeev will now link up with Ukraine head coach Andrea Maldera ahead of four Nations League fixtures against Hungary, Georgia and Northern Ireland.
