Ivan Varfolomeev made his senior international debut for Ukraine on Monday night, becoming the latest Imp to represent his country at senior level.
The midfielder came off the bench as Ukraine were narrowly beaten 2-1 by Hungary in their latest UEFA Nations League fixture.
It marks another milestone in Varfolomeev's rise, having received his first senior call-up last month following a strong start to the 2026/27 campaign.
The 22-year-old had previously represented Ukraine at youth level, including for the Under-21s, before earning his first senior selection. He was named in the squad for Ukraine's Nations League fixtures during the September and October international windows.
Varfolomeev joined City in August 2025 and quickly established himself as an important member of the squad, earning the Young Player of the Season award during the Imps' League One title-winning campaign.
Chieo Ogbene also featured during the latest round of international fixtures, adding to his Republic of Ireland appearance tally against Israel. The winger came off the bench for Ireland on Sunday as they continued their UEFA Nations League campaign.
Andrei CoubiÈ™ was also in action on Monday evening, featuring for Romania as they were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Sweden. The defender has been a regular part of Romania's senior squad during the international window, having also featured in their earlier Nations League fixtures against Sweden and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
