Michael Skubala is pleased with how pre-season training is taking shape after preparations for the 2025/26 campaign stepped up a gear with victory at Hull City.

James Collins and Jovon Makama sealed a 2-0 success in the friendly held at the Tigers' East Yorkshire training ground on Saturday.

The Imps' head coach said: "We've played well at a good team, but getting everyone through without any injuries and getting 45 minutes in the legs was the most important thing. All in all it was a good day's work.

"Everything is building towards being ready at the start line in August. We've been working hard over the past couple of weeks to embed our tactical principles, build the lads up physically and some team bonding.

"It's been tough for the lads, and it has been really warm, but it's important to build up with a plan so we're fit, healthy and ready to go next month."
