Michael Skubala hailed the unity of players, staff and fans in the Imps family after City sealed the Sky Bet League One title with a win at Doncaster Rovers.
Ben House’s two goals were enough for a 2-0 victory, but it was another performance where the teamwork and desire ran through every single player.
Head coach Skubala said: “We started that culture piece in the summer, making sure that the players and staff are all connected.
“Everybody is working so hard together, all the staff throughout the club are giving everything for the players and the lads know that.
“It’s a real family - you can see when one gets hurt, their mate picks them up; when one doesn’t score, someone else goes and scores; when one doesn’t get their head on it someone else does.
“That's what makes us relentless and resilient, and that's what keeps it the work ethic in the team. They drive that every day in training as well.”
The win in South Yorkshire took the Imps to 97 points, and Skubala felt his side were good value for the victory.
He said: “We saw a proper performance and we could have won by three or four goals with how well we played.
“This was another tough game against a team fifth in the form league. So this is not an easy team to play against, but the level of performance was amazing.”
Skubala praised the 2,994 travelling fans who got behind his side throughout the entire 90 minutes at the Eco-Power Stadium.
He added: “The fans will enjoy that. Again, how good were they? They played a massive part, again, and we're going to need them as we go into a tough league.
“Thank you for your support to the lads. They've played a real part when we've needed them this season.”
