Reeco Hackett goes straight into the starting XI at Millwall after completing the concussion protocols.
Hackett had to sit out the games against Sheffield United and West Ham United but returns to City's attack for Saturday's Sky Bet Championship visit to the Den.
Andrei Coubis, Yunus Konak, Rob Street, Adam Reach and Dom Jefferies also come into the starting XI.
Ben House misses out through illness, while Mason Melia continues his recovery from injury. Tom Hamer and Conor McGrandles are suspended.
Head coach Tom Shaw said: “This is a very tough place to come and get a result, but we want to fight fire with fire. We’ve been bold with our team selection and the way we’re setting up, and we’re looking forward to the challenge.
“We’ve picked a team, a shape and a strategy that we hope will get us on the front foot. Millwall are a front-foot team who try to bring the noise, and I believe it’s a full house.
“We’ve got some brave footballers in our squad who will embrace the chaos and the challenge.
“We know set-pieces will be a big focus for both teams, as we’re both very good in those situations. The transitions and second balls will also be really important.
“Whoever tidies the game up most efficiently will gain momentum and territory. We’ve picked a group of players and a style that worked well for us last year, which we hope will help us get on top for large parts of the game.
“We wanted a fresh team, just as we did the last time we had three games in eight days."
