City head coach Michael Skubala has rotated his side for the Vertu Trophy tie against Manchester United U21 at the LNER Stadium.
Skubala makes 11 changes to the team that defeated Peterborough United 3-0 last Saturday, with Dexter Lembikisa handed his Imps debut.
Tom Hamer skippers City for the first time this evening.
Speaking ahead of the match with the Red Devils, Skubala said: "I think this is a really exciting game for us, everyone knows the depth that we now have in the team and it's a good opportunity for them to show what they can do.
"The lads who are not in the squad for this game are the ones who have played full 90's in the last three outings and it is a good opportunity to rest them.
"We want to get through and do well in this competition and a win would give us a really good chance of doing that."
Imps: Jeacock, Montsma, Towler, Thorn, Ring, Okoronkwo, Obikwu, Hamer, Lembikisa, Varfolomeev, Barbrook.
