Rob Street says City are determined to finish the season strongly after his late equaliser in a 2-2 draw at Stevenage extended his side’s unbeaten run to 26 games.
With just three matches remaining, Street - who struck in time added on - made it clear there will be no drop in standards as the Imps look to finish the season strongly.
He said: “That’s the mentality we’ve had all season, and it’s got us to where we are now - never give up, keep going right to the final whistle.
“Our mentality is to keep on going. We’re all winners in there and all want to achieve things in our careers.
“Every day is a new day to come in, work hard and try to play your part in the team as best as you can. That will be until the final match of the season - we want to win every single game.”
Street’s leveller continued his strong record against Stevenage, the same side he scored his first professional goal against earlier in his career - while he also notched the decisive goal in a 1-0 success at the LNER Stadium back in October.
City expected a stern examination and were not surprised by the challenge posed by their promotion-chasing opponents.
Street added: “They’re a tough team. They were really good - we knew it was going to be a battle and they definitely gave us one.
“They are where they are in the league for a reason. They’re very similar to us in terms of their style and how they play. They do the basics very well and every time you play against them, it’s a tough game. We had to be ready for the battle.”
