Max Robinson was pleased with his performance against Crewe Alexandra in the U17 PDL Cup.

City's U17 side kicked off their PDL cup campaign with a well fought 2-1 loss to Crewe Alexandra. Despite losing the fixture, there were many positives from the match with plenty of strong individual performances, especially from debutant Max Robinson who scored an equaliser in the first half.

Robinson was encouraged by the opportunity to play in the cup and believes that he made the most of it.

He said: “I think it was a very good performance. I'm happy to make my U17s debut at just 14. I managed to creep in at the back post and get on the end of a flick on so to score as well made it even better.”

Robinson is now hoping to build on these opportunities throughout the season especially with more cup games to come with the young Imps having at least two games left in the PDL Cup against Notts County and Burton Albion.

He added: “I think hopefully if we go into the next two cup games strong and with the same mindset as today, we should be able to take a win, and hopefully I can score more goals and keep working hard for the team.”
