City skipper Tendayi Darikwa has thanked the travelling Imps fans for their fantastic support, as they prepare to face league leaders Cardiff City on Saturday.
The Imps will be backed by over 3,000 supporters in the Welsh capital for 12.30pm kick off and Darikwa says the team are determined to give them a performance to be proud of.
He said: “Cardiff are well-coached and will have a big crowd behind them, but we can only focus on ourselves.
“We will be backed by a huge following and I think it shows just how far we’ve come as a club in recent years.
“Myself, the players and the rest of the staff really appreciate the support. We know it isn’t easy or cheap to follow your team up and down the country, so hopefully they can make as much noise as possible, and we can make them proud.”
City will be looking to stretch their incredible unbeaten run to 18 games when they travel to South Wales, but they know they have a tough assignment against the table-toppers.
The skipper reiterated the Imps will be going into the test with the same mindset they’ve had all season.
He added: “This is another game on a long journey, we’ve prepared right and now we’ll go there and approach like we have every game so far this season.
“There are still 12 games to go and we just need to take each one as it comes and see where it takes us.
“Every game we go into we have the same target, to win the game. We have a lot of experience within the group and I don’t think I have to say much, we all know what we need to do. We’ll be ready and full focused on this game.”
