Dom Jefferies says the togetherness in this City squad is what has propelled them to their current good form.
Saturday's win at Cardiff stretched the Imps' unbeaten run to 18 games, with Jefferies sealing victory with the second goal in the 2-0 win.
He said: "The lads grafted so hard for the whole 90 minutes, with everyone working for each other.
"There's a real togetherness within the squad. You can see that really clearly on the pitch.
"We are now 18 games unbeaten and haven't conceded a goal in the past four games, which you can only do with a special squad. But football is crazy, we know it can change quickly and there are still plenty of points to play for."
Surgery on a hip problem meant Jefferies was unable to feature in a first-team game until November, and he recognises he had to be patient to reach the form he knew he was capable of.
He has now clocked up 18 appearances in all competitions, and having opened his account for the season against Blackpool last Saturday has now doubled his tally for the season.
He added: "It took a while to get back to fitness, which is normal with the hip operations I had, but now I'm working hard in training each day and trying to help the team when I can.
"It's a positive that we've got such a strong group of players on the bench, itching to get on and contribute."
