Matchwinner Ben House says the quality of attacking options at City are as strong as they have been in his time at the club.
House struck with a looping first-time effort to send the Imps into the third round of the Carabao Cup thanks to a 1-0 win at Burton Albion, having only come off the bench in the 84th minute.
Conor McGrandles, Reeco Hackett, Freddie Draper and James Collins were also sent on in the closing stages of the match at the Pirelli Stadium as head coach Michael Skubala flexed his muscles.
House said: "With Oscar Thorn coming in this week as well to add to the group, the quality is quite frightening. The depth is greater than it was last season - clearly the club have done a good job over the summer getting the right people in.
"It has always been a good changing room, but it helps to have that quality. And we need all the bodies we can because it's a long season."
House had only been on the pitch for five minutes when he lofted the ball past the impressive home goalkeeper Kamil Dudek - who was named Man of the Match by the Brewers - to seal the tie.
He added: "I was delighted as I took it first-time and it could easily have gone sky high.
"The lads who started did really well, and those who came on all made an impact. Everyone put in a real shift and I think we deserved that."
