Michael Skubala named his team for the opening game of the 2025/26 campaign.
Summer recruits Ryley Towler and Sonny Bradley came into the side for their debuts, with Rob Street starting in attack following a successful loan spell with Doncaster Rovers in the second half of the campaign.
Jack Moylan also came in for his first start since recovering from injury.
Jovon Makama was left out after the club accepted a bid from a Sky Bet Championship club.
Head coach Michael Skubala said: “Everybody is buzzing to get going, especially being at home for the first game.
“We want to start well and make the LNER Stadium a tough place to come, that everyone who comes here knows they’re in for a tough game.
“Everyone in the squad has done well over pre-season and is ready to go.”
