Conor McGrandles is handed the captain’s armband has he makes his 200th appearance for the Imps on Saturday.
The midfielder takes the armband in the absence of Tendayi Darikwa, who has been ruled out for the season with the knee injury he suffered against Portsmouth last weekend
Callum Elder also makes his first league start for the club after scoring on his first senior start at Blackpool in the Carabao Cup in midweek. He lines up in defence alongside Ryley Towler, who comes in as Tom Hamer also misses out due to injury.
Head coach Tom Shaw said: “We’re looking forward to it. It’s four away games in our first five fixtures now, but the performances at Derby and Middlesbrough were very good, and at Blackpool on Tuesday night I thought we were superb at times.
“We’ve got a strategy for what is a really tough game. We’ve experienced coming here over the past few years and we know they’re going to stress us in their way, but the priority over the last few days has been our conversations with the players and putting together a game plan to make Bolton defend.
“We want to get after them and be super aggressive in all our actions. We know it’s going to be a tough game on a big pitch against a team who are good with the ball, but if we get to our levels we’re really confident we can pick up a positive result.”
