A number of players will make their competitive debuts for City as Chris Cohen and Tom Shaw make 11 changes for Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup second-round tie against Blackpool.
Joe Gauci is handed his first start following his loan move from Aston Villa, while summer signing Andrei Coubiș also comes into the XI for his first start since joining City from Universitatea Cluj.
Josh Honohan and Yunus Konak are both set for their competitive debuts, with the latter joining Tom Bayliss in midfield.
Head coach Tom Shaw said: "We’re really excited to see some of these lads go and fly about Bloomfield Road. They’ve been training well and, although they’ve joined us at different stages fitness-wise, they deserve this opportunity and they’ve earned it.
“We’re looking forward to seeing them show their stuff. Every time we take to the pitch we learn a little bit more about the newer faces, and the priority is to try and win the game.”
Further forward, Mason Melia and Tanto Olaofe come into the side alongside Rob Street as Chris Cohen and Tom Shaw make wholesale changes from the team that featured at the weekend.
Callum Elder, Adam Jackson and Ryley Towler also return to the starting XI.
Recent arrival Ethan Wheatley is included in the matchday squad for the first time after completing his season-long loan move from Manchester United on Monday.
The 11 changes mean a fresh-look City side will take to the pitch at Bloomfield Road as the Imps look to progress to the third round of the Carabao Cup.
Shaw added: “We’ve managed the squad, but the priority is to give ourselves the best chance of winning. It’s an important competition for the group and we want to progress again.
“People will look at it as a Championship team against a League One team, but everybody knows it’s not as simple as that. We want to get plenty of minutes into players and advance to the third round.”
