City head coach Michael Skubala spoke of his pride after the Imps finished their 2025/26 home campaign with a 4-3 win over Wycombe Wanderers at the LNER Stadium on Saturday.

The victory over the Chairboys ensured the Imps could celebrate lifting the Sky Bet League One trophy off the back of a victory, with Skubala hailing a historic moment for the team.

He said: “I’m unbelievably proud of the players that have given everything for the badge and the fans that support the players and give everything for them.

“It’s an emotional day for everyone and I think the lads were feeling it a little, but as they have done so often this season, they found a way to win again.

“It is a really historic moment for the lads, you have to give credit to them, they have been excellent and so have the staff. It has been an unbelievable season.”

The win also ensured that City reached a landmark 100 points, and achievement which Skubala believes speaks volumes of the season his team have had.

He added: “To get 100 points is unbelievable. The likes of Sonny, Tendayi and Reachy have had incredible careers and they are saying that it’s their best ever achievement. That shows you what an incredible season this has been.”
