City are looking to extend their unbeaten run to 20 games when they host Stockport County to the LNER Stadium on Saturday 14 March (12:30pm KO).
Read the pre-match thoughts of both Michael Skubala and George Wickens as well as all the key information ahead of Saturday.
Michael Skubala:
“We’re focussed on the next game, we’re not thinking about anything else and we’re looking at the three points that are available to us in what will be a really exciting game against a really tough team.
“This is a really tough game because we’ve been on the road, we’re going to have to be very prepared and we’re going to have to be good on the day to get three points.
“You can see the emotions at the end of a game and how the players are connected to the fans and that’s how it needs to be for the run in, we need the fans to get behind us.”
George Wickens:
“We don’t get involved with outside noise because the gaffer is very good at making sure everything is very in-house.
“It’s going to be another tough game, we’ve had plenty of them this season and we know the threats they’re going to bring, but at the same time we need to focus on ourselves.
“The fans have been amazing and we’ve felt that every time we’ve played at home, so I’m sure it’ll be the same on Saturday.”
Opposition information:
Stockport County currently occupy 5th place in Sky Bet League One amassing a point total of 56 points after 34 games. However, Dave Challinor’s men don’t just have the league campaign to focus as they booked a trip to Wembley when advancing to the EFL Trophy Final where they face Luton Town.
Boxing Day was the date when these two met earlier in the season at Edgeley Park and it was the Imps who came out on top but not without drama. Reeco Hackett opened the scoring before Jayden Fevrier got the Hatters level, a stoppage time spot-kick from Rob Street was the decisive moment giving the Imps all three points.
