City will be looking to stretch their unbeaten run in Sky Bet League One to eight matches when they host in-form Peterborough United at the LNER Stadium on Sunday 4 January (12noon KO).

Read the pre-match thoughts of Michael Skubala and Justin Obikwu and catch-up on key match information in our preview.

Michael Skubala:

"Peterborough United are the in-form team in the division at the moment and are absolutely flying at the moment, but we fancy ourselves against any team at home. The crowd have really got behind us in recent games and we will need them to do so again."

Justin Obikwu:

"It has been a real learning curve over the first half of the season, and it has been a great experience for me as well as a step up from League Two last season. I want to play a big role for this club in the second half of the season.

"The fans have been brilliant this season, and they have a big role to play as well on Sunday and the rest of the season."

Opposition information:

Posh are on the form sides in Sky Bet League One and kicked off 2026 with a 2-0 away win at Rotherham United to record their fifth win in six league matches.

The run has taken Peterborough United from the relegation places to the top half of the table and they travel to the LNER Stadium just six points off the play-off places.

Luke Williams was appointed as Posh's new manager at the end of October and has made a fantastic start to life in the hotseat, winning nine of his 14 games in charge in all competitions.
