City will be looking to make it six home league wins in a row when they take on Huddersfield Town at the LNER Stadium on New Year's Day.

The Imps have won three league games in a row after defeating Cardiff City, Stockport County and Barnsley and host another in-form side on Thursday 1 January (3pm KO).

Michael Skubala:

“We had an excellent December, but our focus is now on two big home games to start the year. We know things can turn really quickly in football, so no one is getting carried away with half the season left to play.

“What we do have is a really experienced, honest and hardworking group, who will continue to work hard every day to try and put as many points on the board as possible.

“Every game in this league is tough for different reasons. Huddersfield have changed their style a little in recent weeks and have scored plenty of goals, so we know it will be a challenge.

“We’re at home and we’ll go and take the game to them, and I’m sure if we perform to the levels we have been doing, we’ll have every chance of achieving the result we want.”

George Wickens:

“Our home form throughout the season has been really impressive and I think we all felt that the one thing we’ve been missing has been a bit of consistency on the road in terms of results, so to get two big away wins has been another huge boost for confidence.

“We needed a statement victory away from home, so to pick up six points was really pleasing and has given everyone such a big boost. Of course, we’re only halfway through the season and there’s plenty of football left to play. We’re not getting carried away, but it's certainly a nice position to be in at the moment.

“We have two big home games coming up, starting with Huddersfield, who are in really good form themselves. We know it will be a challenge, but we want to continue our form at home.”
