City will be looking to extend their unbeaten league run to 27 games when they travel to South Yorkshire to take on Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday 21 April (7.45pm KO).
Read the thoughts of both Michael Skubala and Conor McGrandles ahead of the Imps‘ clash with Rovers.
Michael Skubala:
"We have to keep focused, our job is to make sure that we do everything that we can to get the three points. Doncaster are a good team and have been in excellent form since the turn of the year.
"They're right up there in the form table and we know that it will be a tough game, so we will have to be on it. We know that if we perform to our best that we can give anyone in this league a game."
Conor McGrandles:
“It’s a big game, obviously it is not going to be easy for us and we’re going to have to be at it.
“It’s been great playing in most games, I think I’ve only missed one league game which is something I’m really proud of, being available for so many of the games but as I’ve said, it makes it easier when I’ve got this group of players around me.
“The fans have been incredible, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the fans probably don’t realise how much they do help us and I’m really grateful that the boys and myself have been able to pay them back for their efforts and support.”
Opposition information:
Rovers head into this fixture occupying 14th place in Sky Bet League One with a points tally of 56 which guarantees their place in the division next season. Grant McCann’s side head into their clash with the Imps off the back of two straight wins having only lost two of their last nine matches.
Tuesday’s hosts made the trip to Sixfields Stadium to face Northampton most recently where three goals in the second half including one from former City man, Hakeeb Adelakun, was enough to see off the Cobblers.
When these two teams met at the LNER Stadium in November it was the Imps who came out narrowly on top. Loanee, Frankie Okoronkwo opened the scoring for City in the first period before Brandon Hanlan got the Rovers’ equaliser, but City’s response was immediate as just a minute later, Robbie Gotts’ attempted clearance ended in the back of his own net.
