City forward Ben House says everyone will need to play their part as City approach what promises to be an exciting run-in to the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

House made his first start since November during last Tuesday’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Northampton Town, after recovering from an injury setback and the 26-year-old was pleased to be back out there.

He said: “It was great to be back starting again, I think when it is your first start for a while it is natural to feel excited as well as a little nervous, too.

“I think the players around me helped me settle back in a lot quicker. I particularly enjoyed playing with Adam Reach again, we’d formed a good partnership before my injury, so it was good to continue that.

“The team had been doing so well and when that is the case you can’t really complain about not being in the side, I just had to patient and for my opportunity.

“We have a very strong squad and everyone here knows that when you’re called upon, you have to be ready.

“With the games coming up there are going to be opportunities and we’ll need everyone to play their part.”

The Imps will be looking to make it 16 league games unbeaten when they head to the One Call Stadium to face Mansfield Town on Saturday 21 February (3pm KO).

The Stags made national headlines last weekend when they knocked Premier League side Burnley out of the Emirates FA Cup and House has insisted the Imps will be taking nothing for granted against Nigel Clough’s side.

“We have 14 games left and it is important that we stick together and take each game as it comes," he said.

Everyone wants to do well and achieve the same thing. I think on Tuesday against Northampton we showed that we’re not going to take our foot off the gas.

“With the characters we have in the changing room, I know that no one is going to be taking anything for granted. It is up to us stay resilient and level-headed.”
