Head coach Michael Skubala hailed the doggedness and determination of his players to make sure they came away from Exeter City with all three points.
Another clean sheet was the foundation for the 1-0 victory - sealed by Tom Hamer’s first-half header - and was a fifth straight match without George Wickens being forced to pick the ball out of his own net.
Skubala said: “You have to come to these places on the road and dig it out, this group have the determination to do that and have done it again. They’ve all put a big shift in.
“They were sensational in that sense - Exeter had more territory but we didn’t give up big chances. We were brilliant at heading the ball out of the box when needed and the substitutes all came on and played their part.”
This win was the perfect way to build on Saturday’s impressive win at league leaders Cardiff City, and Skubala was pleased to keep the good run going in what is shaping up to be a pivotal period for the team.
He said: “It’s a really good three points and six in the past two games is a fantastic return for us.
“And now our focus is on a really big game against Stockport County, who have had the midweek off so we’ve got to recover well and get ready to go again.
“I’ll watch the game back on the bus back up to Lincolnshire, we have to keep improving as we know the teams around us will keep doing so. We’ve got to make sure we keep putting points on the board.”
The Imps were backed by more than 400 fans in Devon, just days after an army of more than 3,000 made the trip to South Wales.
Skubala added: “We know the two journeys are long ones, and we know how late they’ll get back.
“It’s a brilliant effort from them all and they can see how much it means to all the players."
