The Imps progressed to the third round of the Carabao Cup as they emerged 4-1 winners at Blackpool.
Tanto Olaofe, Tom Bayliss, Rob Street and Callum Elder scored the goals as City saw off the Seasiders at Bloomfield Road.
A number of players made their competitive debuts for City as Chris Cohen and Tom Shaw made 11 changes from the team that faced Portsmouth in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday.
The first chance came City's way on four minutes when Tom Bayliss took a free-kick from just inside the Blackpool half, playing Mason Melia in down the right but his low cross was deflected into the arms of the goalkeeper.
Following some probing at both ends, the next chance came in the 19th minute when there was nice link-up play between Josh Honohan and Olaofe, with the latter played in down the right. He looked to work an opening but his effort was blocked by Casey
Midway through the half, Rob Street was sent clear down the right but his low cross just couldn't be met by Olaofe. Then at the other end, Bowler attacked for Blackpool and Gauci made a great stop to prevent Bloxham from turning home after his throughball..
The 31st minute saw great defending from skipper for the night Adam Jackson, who halted his sliding challenge to then slide again and hook the ball away from Bloxham, who was seeking to pull the trigger in the Imps area.
Two minutes after, Bayliss' free-kick was looped into the area from 35 yards, meeting Street on the left side of the area whose cutback found Melia, but his header was saved. Quickly at the other end, Coulson fired over after pressing from Hamilton.
Then, after getting the ball down the right side of the area, Hamilton's shot hits the side netting at the near post.
With 36 minutes gone, City went ahead when Olaofe calmly slotted home, capitalising on a defensive error, as the ball was passed across the home side's 18-yard box and found the loanee. It was his first goal for the Imps.
The Imps came close again soon after when Melia slid an effort just wide from the left side of the area after a clever clipped pass from Bayliss, which came after the Imps number 8 won possession in the middle.
Bowler tested Gauci with a low shot from the right angle of the 18 yard box but the on-loan goalkeeper got down well to save.
The Imps attacked again and Street was played in brilliantly by Coubis, taking a great first touch and then bringing the ball down on the right side of the area before firing a shot into the side netting.
On 43 minutes, connecting with a cross from Elder, Street looped a header just over the crossbar from 10 yards.
But, on the stroke of half-time, after the hosts won a free-kick on the right side of the 18-yard box, Clarkson took it, curling across Gauci's dive and into the far corner of the goal.
The second period started with Street working down the right before sending a cross in that Peacock-Farrell was equal to.
Next to come close was Konak, with the ball dropping for him on the edge of the area but his effort stung the palms of Peacock-Farrell, who gathered.
The hosts went down to ten men on 52 minutes when Olaofe chased to bring the ball back into play down the right wing, Ashworth brought him down and received his second yellow card of the night - leaving the field.
Elder took the free-kick from the right, teeing the ball up for Bayliss with a short pass, who brilliantly swept an effort across goal and into the back of the Blackpool net to put City back ahead.
It was three just moments later as, after winning a corner down the left, the set-play was sent in by Bayliss, which Street nodded home at the near post.
On 57 minutes, Melia went down under a challenge after Jackson's flick in the penalty area, but claims for a penalty were denied.
Soon after, Street, Olaofe and Melia all saw efforts blocked in the Blackpool area as the Imps seeked a fourth.
There was a triple Imps change on 71 minutes when Melia, Street and Bayliss made way for Reeco Hackett, Freddie Draper and Ivan Varfolomeev.
After a spell of patient passing from City, Varfolomeev tested the home goalkeeper with a drilled effort from range, but he gathered well.
City made it four on 77 minutes when Elder scored. Meeting a pinpoint delivery from Honohan, who had been played the ball back by Olaofe, the ex-Derby man was at the back post to convert home.
The Imps continued to have the better of the play and made two more changes in the 85th minute as Konak and Olaofe were replaced by Dom Jefferies and debutant Ethan Wheatley.
Ryley Towler was last to have an attempt, making an overlapping run into the box to receive the ball from Draper but his low effort was saved by Peacock-Farrell.
