Ella Thompson-Moulding took the positives from the Imps’ 1-1 draw with Northampton Town as they made it three games unbeaten in the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands.
The centre-half stood strong alongside the rest of City’s defence as they held off the Cobblers to secure a point at Fernie Fields.
Thompson-Moulding said: “In the end we’ll probably take the point. We had some heavy legs out there with the games we’ve had.
“There’s been three games in the past eight days with some heavy pitches, and I think that told at the end a bit, but fair play to the girls - we kept going until the end and we managed to hold on.
“I think on reflection we’re a bit disappointed but when we look back on the week we’ve had we’ll be taking the positives with the points we’ve gained.”
Thompson-Moulding also praised the effort of the whole squad to add another point to their tally.
She added: “I think we’ve been pretty solid defensively in the last few games. We all work together, communicate and back each other up. You could see there that we were throwing in last-ditch challenges to take the point.
“Everyone, including the subs that came on, they’re all into it and they’ll work hard for the team.”
