Lee Mitchell is looking forward to the test his City side will face when they travel to Sporting Khalsa on Easter Sunday.
City’s head coach is expecting a vastly different contest to the one that saw Khalsa snatch victory in a 2-1 win at Moorlands.
Mitchell said: “It’ll be a different game this time to the one at home, obviously we’re used to Moorlands, we know how to play on Moorlands, so we’ll have to adapt things to their home pitch.
“They’ve got a nice, big 3G pitch and we expect them to come out and play some good football against us on that sort of surface. It’s not to take anything away from our players though, we train on that surface, we’re a footballing side so I’m looking forward to this week and that challenge.
“We do want to test ourselves against the best in the league and they’re certainly up there with one of the best this season.”
Mitchell isn’t fearful of the task his players will face however as the Imps have proven themselves competitive against any side in this division throughout the campaign.
He added: “It’s been a huge positive this season that whoever we’ve played in the league we’ve given them a tough game.
“We won’t roll over against anybody, we’ll be competitive and that’s all we can ask of the players, give your all and be competitive and see where you are at the end of the 90.
“We’ve done that every game regardless of the outcome so we’ll do the same against Khalsa.
“They’ll be on it because they’re chasing for top spot, but there’s still all to play for in our eyes, we’re still eyeing to catch the teams above us, all being well we get something from Khalsa and we move forward.”
