City booked a spot in the semi-finals of the Lincolnshire County Cup after an impressive display away to Skegness.
The Imps were immediately on the front foot in the early stages, and took the lead in the 8th minute, after a high ball was diverted into the hosts net by the Skegness goalkeeper.
City soon doubled their lead when McHamilton’s saved effort fell to Holly Wilson, who slotted the ball into the roof of the net.
In the 27th minute, a brilliant save from the Skegness 'keeper denied Wilson her second of the game, but moments later, Ella Thompson-Moulding headed in at the back post from a corner to give City a three-goal advantage.
Tilly Fantom replaced Brogan Pugh 40 minutes in, after the latter picked up an injury. Faith Horner added a fourth shortly after, tapping the ball into the net from close range after a scramble in the box.
That was to be Horner’s last action, as she was substituted for Alice Wood after sustaining an injury during the goal.
Once play resumed in the second half, Skegness grabbed a goal back straight from a corner.
The Imps looked to hit back immediately after conceding, as McHamilton tested the goalkeeper with a couple of efforts on goal.
In the 65th minute, Neve Hincks scored City’s fifth of the afternoon, sliding the ball underneath the Skegness 'keeper and into the net.
The home side scored their second of the game with 20 minutes remaining, smashing the ball past Timson from close range.
City retained much of the possession towards the latter stages, and were able to progress to the semi-finals of the County Cup, where they will face Lincoln United.
