Millie Quaintance has been pleased with the way City have begun the new year following their 1-1 draw with Leek Town.
The Imps have taken four points from their opening two games of 2024, and Quaintance feels it gives her side a lot to build on over the coming weeks.
Quaintance said: “Coming out of Christmas we’ve gelled together very well, we’ve got a lot of motivation to step up and get the points so we can push up the league.
“We’re happy to take a point but I think we definitely deserved the three points on this occasion.”
Quaintance has been a versatile player for the Imps this season, and took up a new role against Leek, battling well alongside Faith Horner in the centre of midfield.
She added: “It was another new position for me today. It’s nice to switch around, because I’m getting to know everywhere on the pitch, so if that role does need stepping into again then I can be there to help the team.”
City are back in league action on Sunday 28 January when they travel to Northampton Town.
