Lee Mitchell was impressed with City’s controlled display against Skegness Town, in a game which saw them net five times.
Goals from Holly Wilson, Ella Thompson-Moulding, Faith Horner and Neve Hincks secured a 5-2 victory over Skegness Town, as the Imps booked a spot in the semi-finals of the Lincolnshire County Cup.
Mitchell said: “It was just about getting the win, giving some players opportunities and mixing the squad up, but a squad nonetheless that we knew would get the job done and that’s what it was about.”
“We were always in control of that game and the players did well, so job done and on we go.”
City will face Lincoln United in the semi-finals of the County Cup, and Lee Mitchell hopes the Imps can put things right after losing out in the final last year.
He said: “It was a good final last year and they deserved the win, but the girls are wanting to put that right, so yes we’re ready to go there and they’ll be ready for us there’s no doubt, but it should be a good game.”
