City Women extended their unbeaten run in the league to four games following a 1-1 draw with Leek Town.
The Imps started brightly with Leah Hardy picking out Lucy Farrow’s run in behind Leek’s defence, but the in-form forward struck a cross-shot wide.
Leek had their first effort in the 12th minute, but Poppy Irvine was comfortable in dealing with Millie Edwards’ strike.
City were dominating play in the first 45 but were struggling to get themselves into the 18-yard box. Maddi Green and Millie Quaintance both tried their luck from distance, but both were off-target.
Farrow came the closest to breaking the deadlock in the first period, but Bethany Cottrell was equal to her stinging effort from the edge of the box.
Ella Thompson-Moulding then almost struck a sucker-punch to end the half but she aimed her effort too close to the Leek shot-stopper.
After the break Lee Mitchell’s side made the best possible start. Jemima Footitt outfoxed her marker, jinking inside before threading a lovely ball through to Farrow who emphatically finished into the top corner.
The Imps were well on top and should’ve gone two ahead when Farrow was played in behind once more, but the forward slipped at the wrong moment, causing her to scuff wide.
After 65 minutes Cottrell was once again alert as she denied Green from converting at the back post following a drilled low ball into the box from Farrow.
The game changed with ten minutes to go as Leah Hardy picked up a second yellow card, meaning City would have to play the rest of the contest with ten players.
Leek took advantage in the 86th minute when a free-kick into the box was fired home by Cassie Hyde.
Both sides pushed late on for a winner, but for the second time this season the points were shared between the two sides.
