Lee Mitchell took the positives from his side's second-half performance following the Imps' 2-0 defeat at Boldmere St Michaels.
Goals from Abby Bevan and Gabby Maia in the first-half saw City fall two behind early on, and despite their best efforts after the break the Imps were beaten for the first time in 2024.
He said: "We were a different team in the second half. It was a disappointing first half, but a good ending to the second half where we created more chances. We looked more like ourselves after the break.
“On a different week, you score a couple of goals. Every week we make things a little bit better and improve but I was glad we ended the game as we did."
Mitchell was also happy with the Imps' squad depth with players coming into the side in recent times and impressing.
He said: “One of the key things is we have changed squads and starting lineups quite a few times, so anyone looking in, they won’t know the formation we play or the players we play in there.
"It allows for players to get some game time and some of them have surprised us in a good way and are now getting involved. There are lots of positives.”
