Lee Mitchell is excited to take on local rivals Lincoln United in the semi-finals of the Lincolnshire County Cup on Sunday 18 February.
The Imps booked their spot in the last four with a convincing win at Skegness Town, and Mitchell is now excited to turn his attention to City’s clash with the Whites.
Mitchell said: “I’m really looking forward to it, with the sort of football we’re playing at the minute, it’s as good a time to play them as any.
“The players are also really excited, and all of our players are fully back into the squad which is great timing for this weekend. Derbies go against the grain and it’ll come down to whoever brings it on the day.”
Following last year’s defeat to the same opponents, Mitchell is confident his side are better equipped to face their old foes this time around.
He added: “We had some words behind the scenes and spoke to the players and they’re up for it this season, they’re excited to play the game and move forward.
“This is a new season, with a different squad, and new players and they’ll be up for winning some silverware. Hopefully on the day we’ll show up, and if we do that, we’ll be okay.”
