Lee Mitchell was disappointed that his side couldn’t seal their place in the final of the Lincolnshire County Cup following a 2-1 defeat to Lincoln United.
Leah Hardy’s goal five minutes from time gave the Imps hope but ultimately first-half strikes from Betsy Thomas and Rebecca Ward led the Whites to victory.
Mitchell said: “There weren’t a lot of chances. They had a lot of shots from quite far out, but we needed to win more of our individual battles.
“You saw in the last 20 minutes more of what we’re about, we put teams under pressure, but ultimately you have to do that for the full 90.”
Mitchell was also impressed with the performance of Chyna McIntosh who faced the difficult task of marking United’s danger woman Ellie Gilliatt.
He added: “Chyna did great today, she was one of the standouts, I think there were two or three who had good games for us but football’s a team game.
“Chyna was superb today. Ellie Gilliatt is a great player - we know her, but Chyna kept her relatively quiet today, so it was a superb game for her really.”
