Neve Hincks praised the togetherness of the Imps as they took a point in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Loughborough Lightning.
The midfielder, who was making her first league start for City, headed in from a corner in the second-half to put her side ahead against their table-topping hosts.
Hincks said: “We always knew it was going to be hard and we had to be together. The game was all about togetherness.
"If we weren’t together, then I don't think we would have clicked how we did, and we wouldn’t have got the goals.
"It was the best performance we probably could have put on, and I’m really proud of everyone.”
Hincks collected her first senior goal for the Imps and was delighted.
She said: “I’m buzzing. It was all about keeping my head up and having that positive impact in the game. But I'm delighted that I was able to get on the scoresheet.
"We know we have got a tough February, but if the game against Loughborough was anything to go by, we are looking forward to the month ahead.”
