Lee Mitchell has called on Imps fans to come to the LNER Stadium on Sunday 7 April and support his side as they take on Peterborough United.
It’s the second time this season that City will play at the stadium following their 6-2 win over Notts County in front of a bumper crowd on the opening day of the campaign.
Mitchell said: “Collectively as a team we are in a much better and different place than the first game of the season, and I’m excited for people to come along.
“Hopefully we get a decent crowd, and we get City fans down to give us support because it does make a big difference, and I think they’ll enjoy what they see because the team is playing some exciting football at the minute.
“We can’t wait to showcase what we’re all about and we don’t think our league position really reflects on our season overall.”
Mitchell also described the excitement within the team at the prospect of another great day at the LNER Stadium.
He added: “We always look forward to playing at the LNER Stadium, the players really enjoy it as do we, so you’ve got to enjoy the day from start to finish.
“We always try to make it a fun-packed day for them, and hopefully we get the business done on the pitch as well. Last time it was against Notts County and it was a good day so we hope for the same again.”
