Lee Mitchell reflected positively on City’s FAWNL Cup fixture against Boldmere St Michaels despite ultimately losing 3-0.
The defeat means the Imps will participate in the FAWNL Plate this campaign, but Mitchell thinks his side can take a lot from the match.
Mitchell said: “You always reflect on your games, and on reflection there were more positives than negatives.
“There’s a lot we can take away from Boldmere, so I think we should be happy.”
City’s attention now turns back to league action, with a trip to Leek Town awaiting them on Sunday.
Mitchell added: “We’ll make some changes to the squad, that’s the beauty of this year - we have depth and numbers. We’ll be going there, like every game, hoping to get the three points.
“Leek are a tricky team. They’re still in this league and they fight every game. You can’t go there and expect that you’re going to win because you won’t with that mentality.”
