Lee Mitchell was pleased with the response of his players in the second half despite City’s 4-1 defeat to Peterborough United.
City looked as if they might claim a point when Faith Horner headed in after 77 minutes, but against the run of play Tara Kirk and Katie Middleton scored to confirm the three points for Posh.
Mitchell said: “I think we grew into the first half, but we didn’t cause them any real problems.
“I thought the changes we made tactically in the second half brought us right back into the game. We all felt like it was going to go towards a 2-2 result, which at that point I think would’ve been fair, but it wasn’t meant to be.”
Mitchell was keen to take the positives however, with his substitutes once again coming off the bench to make a difference.
He added: “We made three key changes in the game, and they were similar to the ones we made at Leek.
“It’s something we know we can go to in order to change the game, so that’s twice now that we’ve done that, and it’s something we’ll certainly be looking at.”
