Lee Mitchell claims City are focusing on themselves ahead of their match against newly promoted Sutton Coldfield Town.
The Royals, who were promoted alongside Notts County last season, are a relative unknown for the Imps at this level, but Mitchell is unfazed by the test.
“As with every team we do our homework, and we prepare as best as we can. We don’t know as much about them as some of the teams in our league, but I think we just focus on our performance and how we’re playing.
“We are quite pleased with how things are going at the moment, so we’re excited for the next game.”
City are hoping to bounce back on Sunday following a late 3-2 defeat against Boldmere St Michaels last time out, but Mitchell is determined to take the positives from the loss.
He added: “There were loads of positives. More positives than negatives. The way we lost the game is something we’ve got to work on, and we’ve discussed that with the players.
“Overall, though, there were a lot of positives, and we played very well. A neutral would’ve enjoyed that game, it had 2-2 written all over it, but it’s a set play that we’ve got to learn from.”
