Maddi Green was impressed with City Women’s work rate as the Imps drew 2-2 at Leek Town.
Green’s 73rd minute strike brought the scores level following Alise Grinda’s opener, but Cassie Steward had the final word for the Imps with a 95th minute goal to cancel out Emma Henderson’s late strike.
Green said: “It is frustrating, but I’m happy that we got away with the one point.
“We all grafted so hard in that game, and it was no less than we deserved, because everyone worked extremely hard.”
The Imps had chances throughout the game to take away all three points, but ultimately had to settle for a share of the spoils.
She added: “It’s just such a shame that we didn’t put our chances away today, but it happens, we move on to the next game now and we’ll work on it in training.”
