Neve Hincks was thrilled to make the step up to the first team as she made her first appearance for the Imps in a 2-0 defeat to Sheffield.
The forward was bright when she came on and was unfortunate to not get on the scoresheet.
Hincks said: “I’m really happy to make my first appearance of the season, but the result is definitely not what we wanted.
“I’ve been playing in the under 23s and I feel like I’ve been doing well in them games, and I got the opportunity today and I had a few chances.”
Despite ultimately exiting the FAWNL Plate as a result of their defeat, Hincks felt City deserved more from the encounter.
She added: “Their defenders were out on their feet by the end of the game.
“We pushed, but their ‘keeper did well and made a few good saves at the end, but we just couldn’t get that goal.”
