Lee Mitchell is hoping his side can cause an upset as they take on Derby County in the first round of the FA Cup.
City progressed thanks to a dramatic 4-3 victory against Lichfield City, and now face a stern test to make it into the second round draw.
Mitchell said: “We are looking forward to the game against Derby, it’s going to be a very tough test for us, against a very good club who are well coached.
“The players are working hard, they’re focused, and we’ll give them a good game whatever the result. We’ll be there to try and cause an upset for sure.”
The Imps were last in action three weeks ago with both of their previous two matches postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, but Mitchell feels his side have used the time wisely.
He added: “We’ve done our best with the last two weeks, the weather is the weather, but it’s how you handle it.
“It’s not ideal for us not having game-time, because that game-time is invaluable, but I think we’ve done the best we can with what we’ve had available.”
