Faith Horner believes there is much more to come from Lincoln City Women after finishing the season in style on Sunday.
Two goals from the midfielder helped the Imps to an 18-1 win over Long Eaton United, extending a five-game unbeaten run to conclude the FAWNL Division One Midlands campaign.
She said: “When I came in there were a couple of new girls as well and it always takes time to get to know everyone, but we’ve got a good bunch who are willing to fight for each other. I’ve really enjoyed it, the girls have been really welcoming and I’ve settled in well.
“We’re really gelling together and since I’ve joined the focus has been about building for next season, you can see from our past few games it’s working so you can’t really ask for much more going into next year.”
Horner volleyed home twice from corners to contribute to Sunday’s impressive scoreline, and she was pleased to reward the supporters with a big win in the final game.
She added: “I don’t get too many goals, so it’s nice to get on the scoresheet - and I probably should have had a hat-trick!
“It’s been a bit up and down throughout the year but it was a great way to end the season.”
There are still limited places left at Sunday's End Of Season Awards where Lincoln City Women's Player of The Season and Players' Player of the Season will be crowned. Secure your spot now by emailing commercial@theredimps.com.
