Ella Thompson-Moulding thinks City can build on their performance against Boldmere St Michaels despite ultimately being on the losing side of the FAWNL Cup tie.
Gabby Maia’s hat-trick guided the Mikes to a 3-0 victory, meaning City will play in the FAWNL Plate this season.
Thompson-Moulding said: “We created some good chances but didn’t finish them so we need to work a little bit on that clinical finishing, and maybe some slight errors in defence.
“We can take a lot of positives from the match, and there were certain spells of the game where we definitely dominated, and hopefully we can build on that.”
Thompson-Moulding was proud that the Imps more than matched their opponents, especially considering that Boldmere were operating in the division above last season.
“I think they’re definitely going to be one of the stronger sides in the league this season considering they’re coming down from tier three playing against tough opponents.
“It wasn’t easy for them today, so it’s good we can be up there with teams like Boldmere who are looking to win this league and get up there.”
