Lee Mitchell was impressed with his side’s character as the Imps beat Hull City 3-1 in their penultimate pre-season match.
Goals from Leah Hardy, Toni McHamilton and a trialist sealed an impressive victory for City.
Mitchell said: “It was a good performance. It was important that we did that, because you can’t have one-off performances and then turn up the next week and not replicate it. So to be on a little bit of a run is so important.
“The competition for places, and quality in depth, and the way we’re performing is good. We showed attacking character in the first half, and then we were under the cosh second half, so the players needed to dig in.”
City round out their pre-season schedule by welcoming Hull United to Lincoln Moorlands before the 23/24 campaign starts.
Mitchell added: “We’ve got different plans for next week, we’ll treat that game differently to this one, and differently to Stourbridge, so we hope to get out of it what we need to get out of it.”
Come and watch City’s final pre-season friendly against Hull United at Lincoln Moorlands on Sunday 13 August (2pm KO).
