Lee Mitchell is eager to add some silverware to the cabinet this season by retaining the Lincolnshire FA County Cup.
The Imps face Lincoln United at the Jakemans Community Stadium in Boston on Sunday, but Mitchell is expecting a tough encounter against the Whites after defeating them in the semi-final last season.
He said: “It’s a fresh encounter and a cup final we know Lincoln United will be well up for. We know most of their players and their team well, and we’ve done our homework by sending staff out to watch their games.
“Although we’re a division higher, they’re one of the top teams in the league below us. We’re prepared as best we can be for what they’ll bring, but it’s a cup final so you have to be at your best too – it’s a tough encounter and we certainly won’t underestimate them.”
Ahead of the final, City’s manager is pleased with the positive morale in the group following a strong run of form over recent weeks.
He added: “Cup finals are always a one off, but I think we can take the momentum we have gathered from the past four or five weeks into the match. We’re in our best form of the season and the girls are feeling confident and excited.
“The energy and standard at training at the minute is the best it’s been this year and it’s about finishing the season as strong as we can, hopefully with silverware, and use that excitement to head into next season.
