Leah Hardy thanked City fans for their support after more than 1,003 fans flocked down to LNER Stadium for the opening game of the 2022-23 season.
A record crowd were there on Sunday afternoon as City took on promotion rivals Doncaster Rovers Belles to their opening match in the FAWNL Division One Midlands.
She said: "Before I got here I heard 500 fans were coming, but to hit that one thousand mark is just unbelievable.
"Credit to everyone who came, and I can’t take them enough for coming down and really getting behind us."
The midfielder noted herself a beautiful goal in the second half, when she took a free kick from 30 yards and it went right in the top corner.
She added: "I just thought I need to get the goal to get 3-2. I’ll just whack it and hope for the best, and it curled into the top corner.
"The scenes where unbelieve and I enjoyed every moment of it."
