Tom Shaw joined the Imps in June 2018 and has held several different roles within the club, including first-team coach, interim head coach, and most recently assistant head coach.

As well as his roles with City, Shaw has also been head coach of Gainsborough Trinity between April 2021 and May 2022. Shaw also had the role of interim head coach at the Imps prior to the appointment of Michael Skubala - winning three of his seven games in charge.

During the 2025/26 season, Tom Shaw has played the pivotal role of assistant head coach alongside Chris Cohen as the Imps won the Sky Bet League One title.
