Left-back Callum Elder joined City as their first signing of the 2026/27 summer transfer window when he completed his move to the ProAmpac Stadium following the expiration of his contract at Derby County. 

The 31-year-old arrived with significant experience of playing in the Sky Bet Championship, making the move to Lincolnshire after a three-year spell with the Rams. He has also featured in the second tier for Hull City, as well as Brentford, Barnsley and Ipswich Town on loan from Leicester City, who he joined as a scholar.
