City completed the permanent signing of Ukraine U21 international Ivan Varfolomeev from Slovan Liberec in August 2025 for an undisclosed fee. 

Varfolomeev began his career with Rukh Lviv, featuring for them in the Ukrainian Premier League, prior to signing for Czech top flight side Slovan Liberec in 2022.

The Ukrainian has quickly become a fan-favourite with the Imps, he netted his first goal scoring with a wonderful strike against Northampton Town, before winning Young Player of the Season in his first campaign with City.
