David Preece returned to City as first team goalkeeping coach in July 2025

Preece is a familiar face at the Imps, having initially joined as a player in December 2012. He became the goalkeeping coach the following year, holding the role until the end of the 2015/16 campaign.

His vast coaching experience since includes being part of the Sunderland team which won promotion via the Sky Bet League One play-offs in 2021/22. He was most recently part of the backroom staff of Indian Super League side Mumbai City, part of the City Football Group.
