City completed the permanent signing of experienced forward James Collins in January 2025.

Collins has scored more than 200 senior goals since his professional career began in 2009, and has been a part of an EFL promotion-winning team six times.

The 34-year-old former Republic of Ireland international was part of Derby County's side which earned automatic promotion from Sky Bet League One in the 2023/24 season, contributing 19 goals across all competitions for the Rams.

In his half-season with the Imps, he scored 10 times in 20 games and helped to guide the Imps to a top-half finish. 

Collins enjoyed a fruitful start to the 2025/26 season scoring six goals in 25 appearances before picking up a season-ending injury in December when City hosted Huddersfield Town.
