Young winger Josh Kennealey made the step-up to City's U18 setup for 2025/26 campaign as a first-year scholar.

Kennealey signed a pre-scholarship in March 2024 and stepped up to U18 football in the 2024/25 campaign, making 16 appearances with the majority coming in the second half of the season.

He scored his first U18 goal from the bench scoring City's fourth against Preston North End in a 5-1 victory during the 2024/25 season. 

Many more goals have ensued as he currently sits as the young Imps’ top goalscorer of the 2025/26 campaign with seven goals in the Youth Alliance North including a hat trick against Wrexham and a brace against Port Vale. He also two has goals in City’s PDL Shield campaign against Notts County.
